Main fuels released for consumption increased by 2.0%

In Madeira, the main fuels released for consumption (diesel oil and gasoline) stood at 35.0 million litres between July and September of 2014, increasing by 2.0% year-on-year. The main fuel – diesel oil – increased by 4.0%, with 24.2 million litres being released for consumption in the reference period. In the case of the gasolines, the demand for unleaded 95 gasoline  dropped by 2.3% and for unleaded 98 by 1.0%. The sales of these fuels were, 8.9 and 1.8 million litres, respectively.

Concerning gas, the release for consumption of butane and propane stood at 1.7 (-4.9% than in the corresponding period of the previous year) and 3.1 thousand tonnes (+0.1%), respectively.

Considering the January to September 2014 period, the year-on-year growth of the main fuels released for consumption was 0.9%, driven by the increase of diesel oil (+1.6%). The demand for unleaded 95 gasoline was similar to the one registered in the first nine months of 2013, while unleaded 98 dropped by 3.9%.

In the case of gas, the rates of change were uneven;  while the release for consumption of propane gas grew by +9.9%, the demand for butane decreased by 2.1%.
