The Consumer Prices Index (CPI) 12-month average rate in Madeira was -0.5%, the same as in the previous month.
The largest downward pressure on the annual average rate of change occurred in the classes of "Transport" (-5.3%) and "Clothing and footwear" (-1.7%). Conversely, the highest positive variations were observed in the classes "Alcoholic beverages and tobacco" (3.2%) and "Communications" (2.4%).
In Portugal, the value of that rate stood at 0.8%, 0.1 percentage points higher than in the previous month.
In February 2017, the average value of housing rents per square meter of floor area in the Region was 0.4% higher than in the previous month.
