The Consumer Prices Index (CPI) 12-month average rate in Madeira was 1.4%, the same as in the previous month.
The only classes with negative changes were "Clothing and footwear" (-3.0%) and "Furnishings, household equipment and routine maintenance of the house" (-1.7%). Conversely, the highest positive changes were observed in the classes " Transport " (3.4%), “Restaurants and hotels” and "Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels " (2.2% for both).
In Portugal, the value of the CPI 12-month rate stood at 1.3%, the same as in the previous month.
In February 2018, the average value of housing rents per square meter of floor area in the Region was 0.2% higher than in the previous month.
