Consumer Prices Index 12-month average rate in the Autonomous Region of Madeira was 0.6%

In September 2019, the Consumer Prices Index (CPI) 12-month average rate in Madeira was 0.6%, decreasing by 0.3 percentage points from the previous month.

The highest positive changes were observed in the classes “Alcoholic beverages and tobacco" (3.9%), "Transport" and " Miscellaneous goods and services” (1.9% in both). Conversely, the largest negative changes occurred in the classes of the "Clothing and footwear" (-4.6%) and “Communications” (-1.9%).

In Portugal, the value of that rate was 0.5%, decreasing by 0.1 percentage points from the previous month.

In September 2019, the average value of housing rents per square meter of floor area in the Region was 0.3% higher than in the previous month.
