DREM updates the Health Panel Dashboard

The Regional Directorate of Statistics of Madeira (DREM), within the framework of the celebrations of World Health Day, marked today, 7 April, announces the update of the “Health Panel Dashboard”. This update aims to provide all users with a decision-support tool to enhance healthcare provision and the well-being of the population.

This update incorporates the most recent data available for the three NUTS 1 regions — the Autonomous Region of Madeira, the Autonomous Region of the Azores and Mainland Portugal — now covering the period from 2015 to 2025. The dashboard brings together a set of social, economic and behavioural indicators associated with the population’s health status.

The data are organised into the following chapters:

In the chapter dedicated to Health, a new page has been introduced featuring indicators for Primary Healthcare Units. This section provides information on the different functional units, including: the number of consultations carried out by various healthcare professionals, attendances at basic emergency services, and the number of visits conducted by home care services. With regard to medical consultations, and whenever such information was available, data are presented disaggregated by municipality, specialty, and age group, allowing for a more detailed analysis of the provision of primary healthcare in the Region.
