Average value of bank appraisals on housing in the Autonomous Region of Madeira increased from the previous month and year-on-year
In December 2018, the average value of bank appraisals on housing in the Autonomous Region of Madeira reached €1 341/sq meter, increasing by 1.4% from November 2018 and by 2.8% from the year-ago month.
For the flats located in the Autonomous Region of Madeira, the average value of bank appraisals in the month of reference was €1 355/sq meter. In the case of row houses the value was lower (€1 324/sq meter).
For Portugal, that same variable stood at €1 220/sq meter in the month of reference, 0.4% above the previous month. The year-on-year change rate was +6.1%.

Annual values show growth
With the year 2018 now complete, the figures show that the average annual value of the bank evaluation on housing in Madeira stood at €1 316/sq meter, up by 5.0% from 2017, with a 5.8% increase in flats and a 3.7% growth in row houses.
The average value for flats stood at €1 343/sq meter and at €1 281/sq meter for row houses.
In Portugal, the rates changes were +6.1% for flats, +4.7% for row houses and +5.8% for the overall of dwellings.
