Median value of bank appraisals on housing in the Autonomous Region of Madeira hits record high
In October 2020, the median value of bank appraisals on housing in the Autonomous Region of Madeira reached €1 169/sq meter, increasing by 2.4% from September 2020 and by 2.7% from the year-ago month.
For the flats located in the Autonomous Region of Madeira, the median value of bank appraisals in the month of reference was €1 187/sq meter, up by 2.5% compared to previous month and also up by 3.3% over October 2019. In the case of row houses the value was lower (€1 126/sq meter), with the growth rates, by the same order, standing at +1.2% and -0.2%.
For Portugal, that same variable stood at €1 131/sq meter in the month of reference, up by 3 euros from the previous month. The year-on-year change rate was +5.8%. The highest values were registered in Algarve (€1 550/sq meter) and Área Metropolitana de Lisboa (€1 504/sq meter) followed by the Autonomous Region of Madeira (€1 169/sq meter).
It should be noted that the median value of bank appraisals stood in October 2020 is a maximum of the available time series, which begins in January 2011, for both Portugal and the Autonomous Region of Madeira.
