Median value of bank appraisals on housing in the Autonomous Region of Madeira peaked

In February 2021, the average value of bank appraisals on housing in the Autonomous Region of Madeira reached €1 192/sq meter, increasing by 2.1% from January 2021 and by 5.1% from the year-ago month. That value is the highest since the starting point of the time series – January 2011.

For the flats located in the Autonomous Region of Madeira, the median value of bank appraisals in the month of reference was €1 186/sq meter, up by 1.4% compared to previous month and up 1.9% over February 2020. In the case of row houses the value was lower (€1 204/sq meter), with the growth rates, by the same order, standing at +3.7% and +10.6%.

For Portugal, that same variable stood at €1 174/sq meter in the month of reference, up by 4 euros from the previous month (+0.3%). The year-on-year change rate was +5.7%. The highest values were registered in Área Metropolitana de Lisboa (€1 558/sq meter) and Algarve (€1 522/sq meter) followed by the Autonomous Region of Madeira (€1 192/sq meter).
