Median value of bank appraisals on housing in the Autonomous Region of Madeira had a record high
In April 2021, the average value of bank appraisals on housing in the Autonomous Region of Madeira reached €1 226/sq meter, increasing by 2.3% from March 2021 and by 6.2% from the year-ago month. That value is the highest since the starting point of the time series – January 2011.
For the flats located in the Autonomous Region of Madeira, the median value of bank appraisals in the month of reference was €1 232/sq meter, up by 2.9% compared to previous month and up 5.7% over April 2020. In the case of row houses the value was lower (€1 215/sq meter), with the growth rates, by the same order, standing at +1.2% and +5.9%.
For Portugal, that same variable stood at €1 200/sq meter in the month of reference, up by 13 euros from the previous month (+1.1%). The year-on-year change rate was +8.0%. The highest values were registered in Área Metropolitana de Lisboa (€1 582/sq meter) and Algarve (€1 559/sq meter) followed by the Autonomous Region of Madeira (€1 226/sq meter).
