In April 2018, the Consumer Prices Index (CPI) 12-month average rate in Madeira was 1.3%, 0.1 percentage points (p.p.). below the previous month.
The "Clothing and footwear" and "Accessories, household equipment and current housing maintenance" classes were the only ones with negative variations of -2.8% and -1.6%, respectively. Conversely, the highest positive changes were observed in the "Transportation" (3.1%) and "Restaurants and hotels" (2.8%).
In Portugal, the value of that rate was 1.1%, 0.1 percentage points lower than in the previous month.
In April 2018, the average value of housing rents per square meter of floor area in the Region increased by 0.1% over the previous month.
