Consumer Prices Index 12-month average rate in Madeira was 1.5%

In May 2018, the Consumer Prices Index (CPI) 12-month average rate in Madeira was 1.5%, 0.2 percentage points (p.p.) higher than previous month.

The "Clothing and footwear" and "Accessories, household equipment and current housing maintenance" classes were the only ones with negative rates of change of -2.5% and -1.8%, respectively. Conversely, the highest positive changes were observed in "Transportation" (3.8%) and "Restaurants and hotels" (3.4%).

In Portugal, the value of that rate was 1.0%, 0.1 percentage points lower than in the previous month.

In May 2018, the average value of housing rents per square meter of floor area in the Region increased by 0.2% over the previous month.
