The Consumer Prices Index (CPI) 12-month average rate in Madeira was 2.1%, decreasing by 0.1 percentage points from the previous month.
The biggest negative changes occurred in the classes of the "Clothing and footwear" (-1.3%) and "Furnishings, household equipment and routine maintenance of the house" (-0.7%). Conversely, the highest positive changes were observed in the classes "Transport" (5.5%) and “Restaurants and hotels” (4.5%).
In Portugal, the value of the CPI 12-month rate stood at 1.0%, 0.1 percentage points higher than in the previous month.
In February 2019, the average value of housing rents per square meter of floor area in the Region was 0.2% higher than in the previous month.
