Consumer Prices Index 12-month average rate in the Autonomous Region of Madeira was 1.8%
In May 2019, the Consumer Prices Index (CPI) 12-month average rate in Madeira was 1.8%, decreasing by 0.2 percentage points from the previous month.
The highest positive changes were observed in the classes "Transport" (5.0%) and "Alcoholic beverages and tobacco" (4.4%). Conversely, the largest negative changes occurred in the classes of the "Clothing and footwear" (-2.3%) and “Communications” (-0.5%).
In Portugal, the value of that rate was 1.0%, the same as in the previous month.
In May 2019, the average value of housing rents per square meter of floor area in the Region was 0.2% higher than in the previous month.
