Consumer Prices Index 12-month average rate in the Autonomous Region of Madeira was 0.9%

In August 2019, the Consumer Prices Index (CPI) 12-month average rate in Madeira was 0.9%, decreasing by 0.3 percentage points from the previous month.

The highest positive changes were observed in the classes "Transport" (4.0%) and "Alcoholic beverages and tobacco" (2.8%). Conversely, the largest negative changes occurred in the classes of "Clothing and footwear" (-4.6%) and “Communications” (-1.6%).

In Portugal, the value of that rate was 0.6%, decreasing by 0.1 percentage points from the previous month.

In August 2019, the average value of housing rents per square meter of floor area in the Region was 0.2% higher than the previous month (0.3%).
