Consumer Prices Index 12-month average rate in the Autonomous Region of Madeira was -1.6%
In September 2020, the Consumer Prices Index (CPI) 12-month average rate in Madeira was -1.6%, decreasing by 0.3 percentage points from the previous month. This macroeconomic variable started decreasing 22 months ago (with the exception of June 2020, in which the rate was the same as in May).
The largest negative changes were observed in the "Transports” (-5.1%) and "Education" (-4.9%) classes. Conversely, the highest positive changes occurred in the "Restaurants and Hotels" (+2.1%) and “Alcoholic beverages and tobacco” (+0.8%) classes.
In Portugal, the value of that rate was 0.1%, the same as in the previous month.
In September 2020, the average value of housing rents per square meter of floor area in the Region remained unchanged compared to the previous month and registered a 1.5% growth over the same month of last year.
