Consumer Prices Index 12-month average rate in the Autonomous Region of Madeira was -1.5%
In October 2020, the Consumer Prices Index (CPI) 12-month average rate in Madeira was -1.5%, increasing by 0.1 percentage points from the previous month. This macroeconomic variable reversing the downward trend that started in December 2018.
The largest negative changes were observed in the "Transports” (-5.3%) and "Education" (-4.9%) classes. Conversely, the highest positive changes occurred in the "Restaurants and Hotels" (+2.1%) and “Food and non-alcoholic beverages” (+1.1%) classes.
In Portugal, the value of that rate was 0.1%, the same as in the previous month.
In October 2020, the average value of housing rents per square meter of floor area in the Region increased by 0.3% compared to the previous month and 1.5% over the same month of last year.
