inflation rate in the Autonomous Region of Madeira was -1.4%

In 2020, the Consumer Prices Index (CPI) 12-month average rate in Madeira was -1.4%, 1.2 percentage points below the previous year.

The largest negative changes were observed in "Transports” (-5.8%) and "Education" (-4.9%) classes. Conversely, the highest positive changes occurred in the "Restaurants and Hotels" (+2.2%) and “Food and non-alcoholic beverages” (+1.7%) classes.

In Portugal, the value of that rate was 0.0% (+0.3% in 2019).

In 2020, the average value of housing rents per square meter of floor area in the Region increased by 2.2% over the previous year.
