Consumer Prices Index 12-month average rate in the Autonomous Region of Madeira was ‑1.0%
In May 2021, the Consumer Prices Index (CPI) 12-month average rate in Madeira was -1.0%, increasing by 0.2 percentage points (p.p.) when compared to the previous month.
Goods recorded a rate of -0.3% and services of -2.0%.
The largest negative changes were observed in “Education” (-4.9%) and "Transports” (-4.3%) classes. Conversely, the highest positive changes occurred in “Food and non-alcoholic beverages” (+2.0%) and "Health" (+0.8%) classes.
In Portugal, the value of that rate was 0.2%, 0.1 p.p. higher than in the previous month.
In May 2021, the average value of housing rents per square meter of floor area in the Region was +0.1% compared to the previous month and increased by 1.7% over the same month of the previous year.
