Consumer Prices Index 12-month average rate in the Autonomous Region of Madeira was 0.5%
In October 2021, the Consumer Prices Index (CPI) 12-month average rate in the Autonomous Region of Madeira was 0.5%, increasing by 0.2 percentage points (pp) when compared to the previous month. It should be noted that this indicator has been on an upward trajectory since February of this year, becoming positive in the month of September.
In turn, the underlying inflation indicator, measured by the total index excluding unprocessed food and energy, recorded a rate of -0.1%, up 0.2 pp on the previous month.
Goods registered a rate of 0.9% and services 0.1%.
The largest negative changes were observed in “Education” (-4.4%) and in "Clothing and footwear” (-2.6%) classes. Conversely, the highest positive changes occurred in “Health” (+1.3%) and "Transports" (+3.2%) classes.
In Portugal, the value of that rate was 0.8%, 0.2 pp higher than in the previous month.
In October 2021, the average value of housing rents per square meter of floor area in the Region had a change of +0.4% compared to the previous month and increased by 2.0% over the same month of the previous year.
