The Consumer Prices Index (CPI) 12-month average rate in Madeira was negative, -0.5%.

In October 2014, the average change recorded by the Consumer Prices Index in the last twelve months - Total - was -0.5%, the same rate registered in the previous month.

The largest downward pressures came from "Food and non-alcoholic beverages" (-3.3%), "Health" (-1.5%), "Furnishings, household equipment and routine maintenance of the house” and "Recreation and culture" (-1.3%, in both cases).

 "Alcoholic beverages and tobacco" (+ 2.3%) and "Communications" (+ 1.7%) recorded the largest positive changes.

In the country, the value of that rate stood at -0.3%, unchanged from the previous month.

In Madeira, the average value of housing rents per square meter was 0.1 percentage points lower than the previous month.
