Consumer Prices Index 12-month average rate in Madeira was -0.5%

In May 2015, the Consumer Prices Index (CPI) 12-month average rate in Madeira was -0.5%, 0.1 percentage point (p.p.) higher than the value recorded in the previous month.

The largest downward pressure on the annual average rate of change occurred in the classes of "Food and non-alcoholic beverages" and "Recreation and culture" both with -2.0%  and "Health" (-1.5%). On the opposite side, the classes of "Communications" (+1.8%) and " Alcoholic beverages, tobacco" (+1.5%) recorded the largest positive changes.

In Portugal, the value of that rate stood at -0.1%, 0.1 percentage point higher than the value recorded in the previous month.

In May 2015, the average value of housing rents per square meter of floor area in the Region was equal to the previous month (-0.2% in April 2015).
