More performances, spectators and receipts in Madeira’s cinemas
According to provisional data made available data by the Institute for Cinema and Audiovisuals (ICA), 7 638 performances were recorded during the 1sthalf of 2014 in Madeira’s cinemas, increasing by 99.6% vis-à-vis the same period of 2013. This extreme high percentage is explained by the reopening of some cinema rooms.
The number of spectators was approximately 97 700, +12.6% when compared to the same period of the last year.
The box office revenues in the first six months of 2014 amounted to € 495,000, +8.8% than in the first semester of 2013.
