Number of screenings, spectators, and revenue increased in cinemas of the Autonomous Region of Madeira
According to the provisional data provided by the Institute of Cinema and Audiovisual (ICA) to Statistics Portugal (INE), the Autonomous Region of Madeira (ARM) had a total of 3,169 cinema screenings in the first three months of 2023. This represents an increase of 7.4% compared to the same period in 2022.
During this period, the number of spectators in the region reached 35,691, showing a notable year-on-year growth of 31.1%. Additionally, ticket revenue also experienced a substantial increase, amounting to approximately 208.3 thousand euros. This signifies a significant growth of 44.6% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.
