More performances, spectators and receipts in Madeira’s cinemas
According to the provisional data provided by the Institute for Cinema and Audiovisuals (ICA), in the first nine months of 2014, 12 323 performances were recorded in Madeira’s cinemas, a 83,5% year-on-year increase. This pronounced change of rate is explained by the reopening of some cinema rooms.
The number of spectators was approximately 162 146, +10.8% compared to the same period of the previous year.
The box office revenues in the first nine months of 2014 amounted to €815 000, +5,5% over the corresponding period of 2013.
