More performances, spectators and receipts in Madeira’s cinemas
According to the provisional data provided by the Institute for Cinema and Audiovisuals (ICA), in 2014, 16,108 performances were recorded in Madeira’s cinemas, a 52.4% year-on-year increase. This pronounced change of rate is explained by the reopening of some cinema rooms.
The number of spectators was approximately 216,7 thousand, +10.3% over 2013.
The box office revenues in 2014 reached 1.1 million euros, +5.9% compared to the previous year.
