At the end of the 3rd quarter of 2014
Official figures show a natural decrease of the population, more pronounced than in the corresponding period of 2013
Provisional data of demographic statistics show that in the first three quarters of 2014, the Autonomous Region of Madeira registered a negative natural change (-794 persons).
The number of live births in this period (1,264) was smaller than the number of deaths (2,058). In the same period of 2013, the natural change had been also negative (-432 persons).
In the first nine months of 2014, six deaths under 1 year and four dead fetuses were registered.
There were also 575 marriages, 30 less than during the same period of 2013.
