Regional Directorate of Statistics of Madeira marks International Day of Families with a special publication that answers 10 questions
The Regional Directorate of Statistics of Madeira (DREM) releases today, on the occasion of the International Day of Families, the second edition of the publication "Demography in Figures: Infographics Inspired by 10 Questions", dedicated to International Day of Families.
This publication aims to answer questions about the present and past of the Autonomous Region of Madeira from a demographic perspective, through infographics complemented by short texts.
The answers are based on the results of private households obtained from the General Population Census. The results of the 2021 Census are compared with the results from 2001 or 2011, depending on data availability.

In this special edition of the International Day of Families, the following questions are addressed:
1. How many private households are there in the Region and how many persons do they have?
2. Have private households become smaller?
3. How are private households composed?
4. Are there more family nuclei with children or without children?
5. How many children are there in family nuclei of couples with children?
7. What are reconstituted family nuclei?
8. How many children are there in reconstituted family nuclei?
9. What are monoparental family nuclei?
10. How many children are there in monoparental family nuclei?
