In the 1st quarter of 2015
Official figures show that natural change remains negative. Number of births increases compared to the same period of 2014
Provisional data from demographic statistics show that in the first quarter of 2015, the Autonomous Region of Madeira registered a negative natural change (-345 persons).
The number of live births in this period (446) was smaller than the number of deaths (791). In the same period of 2014, the natural change had been also negative, -395 persons (409 live births and 804 deaths).
In the first three months of 2015, 3 dead fetuses were registered. No deaths under one year were reported.
There were also 124 marriages, down by one from the same period of 2014.
