Number of building permits and the number of completed buildings increased in the Autonomous Region of Madeira when compared to the same period last year
In the first half of 2022, 270 buildings were licensed, up by 15.9% when compared with the same period of 2021 (233).
68.9% of the licenses for construction and demolition works were for new constructions (186), 91.4% of which were for family housing (170). These constructions resulted in the licensing of 371 dwellings, up by 53.3% from the first half of 2021 (242).
In the reference quarter, the number of completed buildings went up by 0.7% totalling 146, of which 60.3% of the completed buildings were new constructions for family housing (88). The number of completed dwellings in new constructions for family housing stood at 253, increasing by 76.9% over the same half of 2021 (143).
