Deliveries by mothers residing in the Autonomous Region of Madeira increased by 6.0%
1,936 deliveries by mothers residing in the Autonomous Region of Madeira (RAM) were carried out in 2017, representing a 6.0% increase over 2016 (+110 deliveries). Twenty five of that total were deliveries of twins. In the year of reference, 77.4% of the deliveries were from mothers aged between 25 and 39 years. Mothers over 40 years of age were responsible for 5.5% of the deliveries.
