Number of pharmacies remained unchanged
In 2021, there were 65 pharmacies in the Autonomous Region of Madeira (ARM), 1 medicine depot and 22 points of sale for medicinal products not subject to a medical prescription (up by 2 over the previous year).
In the Autonomous Region of Madeira, there were 26 pharmacies and mobile medicine depots per 100,000 inhabitants in 2021, a smaller ratio when compared to the country (30 pharmacies and mobile medicine depots per 100,000 inhabitants). The figures for this indicator, both in the ARM and at a national level, were the same as in the previous year.
The data now available will be included in the Publication "Health Statistics of the Autonomous Region of Madeira 2021", whose full edition will be released in the first quarter of 2023.
