In the first four months of 2018
Commercialisation of banana increased by 16.4% year-on-year
According to the data provided by the Regional Directorate of Agriculture (DRA), in the first four months of 2018, the commercialisation of locally produced banana stood at 5,110.4 tonnes, up by 719.7 tonnes from the same period of 2017 (+16.4%). Of that total, 80.6% was dispatched, mainly to Mainland Portugal.
This growth was shared by all classes: “Extra” (+17.1%), Class I (+13.7%) and Class II (+16.9%).
