Commercialisation of banana increased by 20,6% year-on-year
According to the data provided by the Regional Directorate of Agriculture (DRA), in the first four months of 2016, the commercialisation of locally produced banana stood at 4,518.1 tonnes, up by 770.1 tonnes from the same period of 2015 (+20.6%). 78.9% of that total was destined for export.
This growth was shared by all classes: “Extra” (+31.5%), Class I (+6.4%) and Class II (+2.2%).
