Commercialisation of banana increased by 19.3% compared to the same period of 2015
According to the data provided by the Regional Directorate of Agriculture (DRA), in the first eight months of 2016, the commercialisation of locally grown banana stood at 13,302.2 tonnes, up by 2,153.3 tons when compared to the same period of 2015. 84.8% of that total was destined for export.
The overall increase was determined by the growth (+32.4%) in the commercialisation of the extra class.
