In the second quarter of 2023
Cement sales in the Autonomous Region of Madeira decreased both compared to the previous quarter and year-on-year
According to data collected by the Regional Directorate of Statistics of Madeira (DREM), in the 2nd quarter of 2023, the cement sales in the Autonomous Region of Madeira stood at 39.5 thousand tonnes, representing a decrease of 6.1% compared to the previous quarter (42.1 thousand tonnes). Furthermore, in comparison to the same quarter in the previous year (43.6 thousand tonnes), there was a decline of 9.4%.
The value of cement sold in the Autonomous Region of Madeira during the reference quarter reached 4.8 million euros, showing a decrease of 5.3% from the previous quarter and a slight decrease of 0.8% year-on-year.
Looking at the overall performance in the first half of 2023, cement sales experienced a year-on-year decrease of 4.2%, while the sales value increased by 4.6%.
