Trade balance of the Autonomous Region of Madeira with foreign countries was positive
According to preliminary data, the Region’s trade balance of goods with foreign countries stood at +1.5 million Euros in the 1st half of 2017, representing a coverage rate of imports by exports of 102.4%. In the same period of last year, the balance between exports and imports was negative (-18.4 million Euros) with the coverage rate reaching 70.4%.
In the first six months of 2017, exports totaled 66.1 million Euros, 77.1% of which destined for Third Countries (i.e. outside the EU), while imports reached 64.6 million Euros, 85.1% of which coming from the EU.
