Trade balance of the Autonomous Region of Madeira with foreign countries was positive, standing at 12.7 million euros

According to preliminary data, the Region’s trade balance on goods with foreign countries stood at 12.7 million Euros in the 1^st quarter of 2021, representing a coverage rate of imports by exports of 135.4%. In the same period of last year, the balance between exports and imports was 31.0 million Euros and the coverage rate reached 177.0%.

In the first three months of 2021, exports totalled 48.5 million Euros (36.7% destined for Countries inside the EU), while imports reached 35.8 million Euros, 78.4% of which coming from the EU. Exports went down 31.9% year-on-year, while imports dropped by 10.9%.
