Trade balance of the Autonomous Region of Madeira with foreign countries was negative
According to preliminary data, the Region’s trade balance of goods with foreign countries stood at -1.1 million Euros in the 1st quarter of 2015, representing a coverage rate of imports by exports of 95.3%. In the same period of last year, the balance between exports and imports was -10.7 million Euros and the coverage rate did not surpass 64.9%.
In the first three months of 2015, exports totaled 22.2 million Euros, 82.6% of which destined for Third Countries (i.e. outside the EU), while imports reached 23.3 million Euros, 88.0% of which coming from the EU.
