Trade balance of the Autonomous Region of Madeira with foreign countries was negative
According to preliminary data, the Region’s trade balance of goods with foreign countries stood at -14.6 million Euros in the first nine months of 2015, representing a coverage rate of imports by exports of 84.3%. In the same period of last year, the balance between exports and imports was 1.9 million Euros and the coverage rate reached 102.1%.
In the first nine months of 2015, exports totaled 78.4 million Euros, 75.0% of which destined for Third Countries (i.e. outside the EU), while imports stood at 93.0 million Euros, 88.4% of which coming from the EU.
