Trade balance of the Autonomous Region of Madeira with foreign countries was negative and stood at 14.0 million Euros
According to preliminary data in the 1st quarter of 2016, the Region’s trade balance of goods with foreign countries stood at -14.0 million Euros, representing a coverage rate of imports by exports of 56.7%. In the same period of last year, the balance between exports and imports was negative at 5.3 million Euros and the coverage rate reached 80.9%.
In the first three months of 2016, exports totaled 18.4 million Euros, 65.7% of which destined for Third Countries (i.e. outside the EU), while imports reached 32.4 million Euros, 86.7% of which coming from the EU.
