All the hospitals of the Autonomous Region of Madeira (RAM) are present on the internet
The results of the Survey on Information and Communication Technologies Usage in hospitals show that since 2004, all hospitals of the Autonomous Region of Madeira have internet access and internet broadband for the development of their activities.
In 2014, the presence on the Internet became generalized in the hospitals.
In the reference year, 44.4% of hospitals used videoconference. In 2004, this ratio was only 28.6% and in 2012 it stood at 50.0%.
Telemedicine activities in 2014 were carried out by 22.2% of the hospitals, dropping by 15.3 percentage points (p.p.) compared to 2012 and by 11.1 p.p. compared to 2008.
