During the first three months of 2015, 67.7% of the population aged between 16 and 74 years old used a computer and 67.9% accessed internet
According to the results of the Survey on Information and Communication Technologies Usage in Private Households carried out in 2015, 74.4% of the private households of the Autonomous Region of Madeira, with at least one member aged between 16 and 74 years old, had access to a computer in their homes and 74.0% had access to the internet (73.4% via broadband), up by 4.5 percentage points (p.p.) and 6.9 p.p. respectively, when compared to 2014.
The proportion of individuals in that age group that used a computer and/or accessed internet at least once in their lifetime stood at 73.3% and 71.2%, respectively. 35.8% of those individuals also used the Internet to make purchases or to place orders. 21.3% did this in the first three months of 2015 (+1.9 p.p. than in 2014).
During the first quarter of 2015, 67.7% of the individuals aged between 16 and 74 years old used the computer and 67.9% accessed internet. When compared to 2014, these percentages are higher by 3.3 p.p. and 5.1 p.p., respectively.
