Main fuels released for consumption increased by 0.2% over 2014
In 2015, the main fuels released for consumption (diesel oil and gasoline) in the Autonomous Region of Madeira topped 134.6 million litres, increasing by 0.2% compared to the same period of 2014. 94.0 million litres of the main fuel – diesel oil - were released for consumption in the reference period, up by 0.3% over the previous year. In the case of gasolines, the demand for unleaded 95 gasoline rose by 0.9% while the demand for unleaded 98 increased by 5.4%. The sales of these fuels were 33.5 and 7.1 million litres, respectively.
Concerning gas, the release for consumption of propane and butane in 2015 stood at 14.9 (up by 9.8% over the previous year) and 5.8 thousand tonnes (-16.6%), respectively.
Mean prices dropped
In 2015, the mean maximum selling prices of diesel oil stood at €1.151, 17 cents below the 2014 mean. In the case of the unleaded 95 gasoline, the drop between 2014 and 2015 reached 15.3 cents and the mean price for this year was €1.489.
In the 4th quarter of 2015, the mean price for diesel oil was €1.099, lower than price registered in the corresponding quarter of 2014 (€1.270). If compared to the previous quarter, the price of this type of fuel shows a decrease of 5.3 cents.
The mean price for unleaded 95 gasoline was €1.430, down by 15.9 cents compared to the 4th quarter of 2014 and also 10.6 cents lower than in the previous quarter.
