Main fuels released for consumption increased by 3.8% year-on-year
In the first six months of 2016, the main fuels released for consumption (diesel oil and gasoline) in the Autonomous Region of Madeira totaled 67.5 million litres, increasing by 3.8% compared to the same period of 2015. 47.3 million litres of the main fuel – diesel oil - were released for consumption in the reference period, up by 4.1% over the same half of the previous year. In the case of gasolines, the demand for unleaded 95 gasoline rose by 2.0% while the demand for unleaded 98 increased by 9.3%. The sales of these fuels were 16.4 and 3.7 million litres, respectively.
Concerning gas, the release for consumption of propane and butane stood at 7.1 (-18.1% than in the same period of the previous year) and 2.8 thousand tonnes (+4.3%), respectively. 9.4 thousand tonnes of natural gas were released for consumption in the reference period, up by 7.8% when compared with the same period of 2015.
Mean prices were lower than in the same quarter of 2015 but higher than in the previous quarter
In the 2nd quarter of 2016, the mean price for diesel oil was €1.105, lower than the price registered in the corresponding quarter of 2015 (€1.203). If compared to the previous quarter, the price of this type of fuel shows a increase of 8.5 cents.
The mean price for unleaded 95 gasoline was €1.380, down by 16.7 cents compared to the 2nd quarter of 2015 and 4.2 cents higher than in the previous quarter.
