Labour Cost Index in the Autonomous Region of Madeira increased by 1.5% from the corresponding period of 2015

The Labour Cost Index (working days adjusted) in the Autonomous Region of Madeira (ARM) went down by 1.5% in the 3rd quarter of 2016, compared with the same period of 2015.

The two main labour cost items are “wage costs” (per hour actually worked) and “other costs” (non-wage costs per hour actually worked). “Wage costs” increased by 1.9% from the year-ago quarter and the “other costs” remained unchanged.

At the country level, the index increased 0.8% year-on year: “Wage costs” went up by 0.8% and the “other costs” by 0.6%.
