Labour Cost Index increased by 1.0% from the corresponding period of 2014
The Labour Cost Index (working days adjusted) went up by 1.0% in the 1st quarter of 2015, compared with the same period of 2014.
The two main labour cost items are “wage costs” (per hour actually worked) and “other costs” (non-wage costs but per hour actually worked). “Wage costs” increased by 1.8% from the year-ago quarter and the “other costs” decreased by 2.1%.
At the country level, the index rose by 4.3% year-on year. “Wage costs” dropped by 4.6% while “other costs” fell by 3.0%.
