Labour Cost Index increased by 2.2% from the corresponding period of 2015
The Labour Cost Index (working days adjusted) went down by 2.2% in the 1st quarter of 2015, compared with the same period of 2015.
The two main labour cost items are “wage costs” (per hour actually worked) and “other costs” (non-wage costs but per hour actually worked). “Wage costs” decreased by 1.7% from the year-ago quarter and the “other costs” decreased by 4.2%.
At the country level, the index decreased 1.1% year-on year. “Wage costs” dropped by 0.7% while “other costs” fell by 2.9%.
