Labour Cost Index in the Autonomous Region of Madeira increased by 1.7% from the corresponding period of 2015

The Labour Cost Index (working days adjusted) in the Autonomous Region of Madeira (ARM) went down by 1.7% in the 2nd quarter of 2016, compared with the same period of 2015.

The two main labour cost items are “wage costs” (per hour actually worked) and “other costs” (non-wage costs but per hour actually worked). “Wage costs” increased by 2.3% from the year-ago quarter and the “other costs” decreased by 0.5%.

At the country level, the index increased 1.5% year-on year. “Wage costs” went up by 1.9% and the “other costs” by 0.1%.
