Value of performed works by construction enterprises headquartered in the Autonomous Region of Madeira rose by 14.5%
In 2019, the value of performed works by construction enterprises headquartered in the Autonomous Region of Madeira amounted to 503.3 million euros, a 14.5% increase compared to 2018. This growth derived from the increase of the “building” works (+28.3%).
The construction enterprises with 20 or more employees were responsible for 72.3% of the total value of the performed works, generating 364.0 million euros, a 16.9% increase compared to 2018. In this group of enterprises (i.e. with 20 or more employees), the “buildings” works were the most important (53.1% of the total), representing 193.2 million euros (up by 40.7% from the previous year).
In the smaller enterprises (under 20 employees), the value of performed works topped 139.4 million euros, up by 8.7% from 2018. Works carried out in buildings were responsible for 89.3% of the total value of performed works by this type of enterprises, and they were mainly related (45.8%) with works of new constructions.
