Number of persons working in the Regional Government of Madeira stood at 19,923
According to the data released by the Directorate-General for Administration and Public Employment (DGAEP) on the latest issue of SIEP (Synthesis of Public Employment Statistics), there were 19,923 persons working in the Regional Government of Madeira (RGM) at 31/12/2020. Compared to the previous quarter, the change was +443 (+2.3%), and the year-on-year increase was 313 (+1.6%). Compared to the end of 2011 there was a decrease of 1 431 persons (-6.7%).
For the third time since this information is compiled by DGAEP (year 2011), the RGM records a positive balance between incoming and outgoing workers (+313) in 2020. In the previous two years this balance had also been positive (+337 in 2019 and +168 in 2018).
In December 2020, the estimated mean age of the workers of the Regional Government of Madeira was 48.3 years (+48.0 a year before)..
More than half of the ARM workers (57.9%) have higher education, 25.0% have only basic education and the remaining 17.1%, secondary education.
In October 2020, the average monthly basic salary was €1,542.57, up by 4.3% from a year ago, while the average monthly earnings stood at €1,807.16, a 5.8% increase from October 2019.
